About the Role
The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is dedicated to supporting and advocating for the mental well-being of athletes at all levels. We are looking for a talented and dedicated Web Designer to join our volunteer team. As a Web Designer at NAAMH, you will work with our digital team to enhance our online presence, ensuring our website is visually appealing, user-friendly, and effectively communicates our mission. Your contribution will help us reach a wider audience and provide valuable resources to athletes and supporters.
Job Function
Website Design: Develop and design engaging, responsive web pages that align with NAAMH’s brand and objectives.
User Experience: Enhance website usability and user experience through thoughtful design and navigation improvements.
Content Updates: Assist in updating website content, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia elements.
Graphic Integration: Create and integrate web graphics, icons, and other visual elements to enhance the overall aesthetic of the site.
Collaboration: Work closely with the digital and content teams to ensure the website supports ongoing campaigns, events, and initiatives.
Testing and Optimization: Conduct regular website testing and implement improvements based on user feedback and performance analytics.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for website issues as needed.
Trends and Best Practices: Stay informed about the latest web design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve our online presence.
Requirements
Education: Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in web design, either through coursework, internships, or personal projects. Experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in web design tools and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and WIX.
Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or other design software.
Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing web design projects, demonstrating a strong eye for design and user experience.
Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions that align with organizational goals.
Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects.
Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to supporting athletes' mental well-being.
