About the Role
The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is dedicated to advocating for and supporting the mental well-being of athletes at all levels. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Volunteer SEO Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in optimizing our digital presence across all platforms, ensuring NAAMH is the top result when it comes to mental health and athletes.
As a Volunteer SEO Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in search engine optimization to enhance our visibility, drive more traffic to our website, and increase our online engagement. Your ability to implement effective SEO strategies and monitor performance will be essential in advancing our mission and expanding our reach.
Job Function
SEO Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to improve NAAMH’s search engine rankings across all platforms.
Keyword Research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-impact terms and phrases related to mental health and athletes.
On-Page Optimization: Optimize website content, meta tags, headers, images, and other elements to improve on-page SEO.
Off-Page Optimization: Build high-quality backlinks, manage local SEO efforts, and implement off-page SEO strategies to enhance domain authority.
Content Creation: Collaborate with the content team to create SEO-friendly content that aligns with target keywords and search intent.
Analytics and Reporting: Use SEO tools and analytics platforms to monitor website performance, track keyword rankings, and provide regular reports on SEO progress and impact.
Competitor Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
Technical SEO: Ensure technical SEO best practices are implemented, including site speed optimization, mobile-friendliness, and proper site architecture.
Platform Optimization: Optimize NAAMH’s presence on various platforms, including social media, YouTube, and other digital channels, to ensure high visibility.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of improving search engine rankings and driving organic traffic.
SEO Tools: Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and similar platforms.
Keyword Research: Strong skills in keyword research and the use of keyword planning tools.
On-Page and Off-Page SEO: In-depth knowledge of on-page and off-page SEO techniques and best practices.
Content Optimization: Experience in creating and optimizing content for SEO purposes.
Technical SEO: Understanding of technical SEO elements, including site speed, mobile optimization, and site architecture.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with content creators, web developers, and other team members.
Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to supporting athletes’ mental well-being.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
