About the Role
The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is dedicated to advocating for and supporting the mental well-being of athletes at all levels. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Volunteer People Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in creating and maintaining a positive organizational culture, developing employee programs, fostering collaboration, and managing employee benefits.
As a Volunteer People Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our team feels valued, supported, and motivated. Your expertise in human resources and people operations will help us build a vibrant and cohesive team dedicated to our mission.
Job Function
Culture Development: Promote and maintain a positive organizational culture that reflects NAAMH’s values and mission.
Employee Programs: Develop and implement employee programs that enhance engagement, satisfaction, and professional growth.
Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work environment where communication, teamwork, and innovation are encouraged.
Benefits Management: Manage and oversee employee benefits programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our team and align with our organizational goals.
Onboarding: Develop and implement effective onboarding processes to ensure new volunteers and employees feel welcomed and integrated into the organization.
Feedback Systems: Create and maintain feedback mechanisms to regularly assess and improve the employee experience.
Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve workplace conflicts in a fair and timely manner, promoting a harmonious work environment.
Policy Development: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support a positive work culture and comply with relevant regulations.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in people operations, human resources, or a related role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Culture Building: Proven experience in developing and maintaining positive organizational cultures.
Program Development: Experience in creating and implementing employee programs that enhance engagement and satisfaction.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster open and effective communication within the team.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
Conflict Resolution: Demonstrated ability to address and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
Benefits Management: Knowledge of employee benefits programs and their administration.
Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to supporting athletes’ mental well-being.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with HR software, tools, and platforms.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
