About the Role

The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a crucial role in supporting our
mission by identifying, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from various foundations,
corporations, and government entities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about mental health and athletics to make a meaningful impact.

- Identify potential grant opportunities that align with NAAMH’s mission and goals.
- Research and compile information on prospective funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
- Ensure all grant proposals are tailored to meet the specific requirements and guidelines of each funding source.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
- Track the status of submitted grants and manage post-award reporting requirements.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate allocation and reporting of grant funds.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and support for grant applications.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions on funding priorities and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Previous experience in grant writing and securing funding for nonprofit organizations.

  • Knowledge of mental health and/or athletic programs.

  • Familiarity with grant databases and research tools.

  • Hours of work Part Time. Availability to dedicate 10-15 hours per week.

  • Ability to attend

    weekly all staff meeting.

  • Work environment - Majority remote, on site opportunities available.

    Travel requirements Varies upon business needs.
