About the Role

The Partnership & Community Relations Specialist Volunteer plays a key role in expanding the reach and impact of NAAMH by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with community organizations, athletic programs, and mission-aligned partners. This individual will help grow NAAMH’s network, increase awareness of athlete mental health initiatives, and support collaborative opportunities that advance the organization’s mission.
This role is ideal for individuals interested in nonprofit development, community engagement, and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development
Identify potential partner organizations including schools, athletic programs, nonprofits, and community groups.
Conduct outreach to potential partners through email, networking, and virtual meetings.
Assist in establishing collaborative relationships that align with NAAMH’s mission.
Community Engagement
Help coordinate community events, workshops, or awareness initiatives.
Represent NAAMH in virtual networking opportunities or community discussions when appropriate.
Support outreach initiatives to expand NAAMH’s visibility.
Relationship Management
Maintain a database of potential and active partnerships.
Assist with follow-ups and communication with community partners.
Support the development of partnership proposals or collaboration ideas.
Organizational Growth
Work with leadership to identify new outreach opportunities.
Provide feedback and ideas for expanding NAAMH’s impact within athletic and mental health communities.

Requirements

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or current study in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Sports Management, or a related field

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or partnership development

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely

  • Passion for mental health advocacy and athlete well-being

Equivalent experience in community engagement or outreach may substitute for formal education.
