About the Role
The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is committed to advocating for and supporting the mental well-being of athletes at all levels. We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Volunteer Contracts and Legal Manager to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that our contracts and legal agreements align with our mission, comply with relevant regulations, and protect our organization.
As a Volunteer Contracts and Legal Manager, you will leverage your legal expertise to draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Your understanding of legal frameworks and your ability to develop clear, comprehensive contracts will be crucial in supporting our organizational operations and initiatives.
Job Function
Contract Development: Draft, review, and manage various contracts, including partnership agreements, sponsorship deals, service contracts, and more.
Legal Compliance: Ensure all contracts and agreements comply with relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, privacy laws, and non-profit regulations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with contracts and agreements.
Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance and best practices.
Advisory Role: Provide legal advice and support to the executive team and other departments as needed.
Negotiation: Assist in negotiating contract terms with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Document Management: Maintain an organized system for storing and tracking all legal documents and contracts.
Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers on legal and contractual matters.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (JD preferred) or a related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in legal roles, with a focus on contracts management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, privacy laws, and other relevant legal frameworks.
Contract Expertise: Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation and contracts.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ethics and Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all legal matters.
Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to supporting athletes’ mental well-being.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with relevant software and tools, such as contract management systems, Microsoft Office, and legal research databases.
